1989 rearend

so i have an 89 4x4 and was wondering how strong the rear end is, like how big of tires will the axles hold?what other rear ends does it compare to? (dana 44, 35 etc...)

It's as strong as or stronger than a D44.
It'll easily handle to 36-37, even 38" tires. At 37-38" the weak link will be the R&P depending on how/what you wheel. Chromo axle shafts and cryo treated R&Ps are avialable to make it even stronger, as well as a full floater kit.
