I have notice for about 3 years now every time I make a hard right turn a noise comes form the engine compartment. The noise is like a wheeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr noise. When I then go straight the noise shuts off. If I take a hard right slow with little engine work the noise will not come on. I can control the noise by how hard and how much gas I give the van.
Any Ideas on what this can be. Thanks in advance for your help. MN Hammer Last edited by hammer007911; 07-07-2006 at 03:20 PM. |

Re: Engine makes whizzing whirling noise on turns
Did you check the power steering fluid level ?
Could be low on fluid. |

Re: Engine makes whizzing whirling noise on turns
Well I've never had to check this on my venture, but whineing is a belt noise, and if it's while turning check the power steering belt. They whine because they become loose and they're are rubber, running over metal, so if there is a little slipping it'l make a loud whine.

Yeah, it could be a pump as well. It didn't throw a service engine soon light? It wouldn't throw one for a loose belt, but it might for a pump, but if the pump is still working, but whining I guess it wouldn't throw it then either.
