Which motor then? The 4g64?... Its only gonna take that kind of boost if you build all your internals you realize. The stock 4g63 will take well over 20psi with proper tuning... Actually I do believe the stock internals of the 4g63 is good for up to 450hp.

I just believe that its easier and a lot cheaper to mod the 4g63 motors...

Re: 4g63 vs. 4g64

uhm if you are converting the 4g64.. I'm not sure if you can go that high right away. Something about the transmission. Check 4g64 to be sure but I thought he was running some lower boost setting.... He had reasoning too..

The most popular on here tends to be a big 16g. I'm not sure if it can support that psi though. I know it's good till about 380ish hp though... You can try.. I'd ask around and search in other threads fo rturbos and flow rates. There was a chart around somewhere.

Specifically see these sites:

Re: 4g63 vs. 4g64

I'm gonna stick with a 4g63. Hell I'm still deciding if I want a Spyder now or just go with a GSX if I can find one. I saw a local guys 96 GST with a brand new metallic blue paint job and it looks pimp as hell.

Another question if you guys don't mind -- if I'm looking at an engine capable of handling 500-600 horses, what turbo should I run with? Would a 16g be enough? or should I just go with a GT35R? Also, if going with a Garrett turbo, would it bolt on, or is there some custom work to be done? And I know I would need some support mods for this setup. A Walbro 255lph should be enough flow from the tank, but are 550cc injectors enough?

16g is only good for like 350hp I do believe... I'd go straight to the gt35r if your looking at that kinda power. You will need a lot of supporting mods if your gonna do that too. After 450hp you will need to upgrade your internals as well... I think you will need more like 720+ injectors.
