87 2.5L wont start?

I bought an 87 with factory t tops and it is beautiful, it ran for about a year then started stalling out when I would put it under power. Then it would act fine just like that. Then it started not starting when I would try to start it and sometimes it would smell like gas. These problems got worse, I changed the fuel pump relay, throttle positioning sensor, oxygen sensor, and fuel pump itself. When I started it after changing the fuel pump, it still would do the stalling out thing and suddenly dying and not starting. Then all of a sudden one day it wont start at all unless I spray something in the throttle body.
I need some advice here before I spend 170 dollars on a part, could this be the ignition module? Does it affect fuel delivery? I can hear the fuel pump running but no gas goes into the TB, I dont know what to do, any advice will be greatly appreciated...............Thank You ...........Ed

Well, i'm not sure of your problem (though it could be the fuel injector acting up which is an easy change) but the ignition module is only about $90.00 or so at Advance Auto Parts which is alot less than 170. Try searching around to see how you can clean your injector. Also Advance or Autozone should be able to test the ignition module once you get it out. Hope that helps a little. And to answer your question, the ignition module does not control fuel, but the idle air control valve controls the air and fuel mixture so you might want to look at that also. And maybe the fuel filter. Sorry for such a long list of stuff. Any more questions just ask.
