what Im commenting on most is just the ridiculous wealth of seattle. nice roads and cars, new clothes.
Well, I guess everyone has different ideas of what defines wealth. Some would think that we are poor cause we drive metros. Myself, I see my car as a choice to save my money to spend on something I really enjoy. That won't be designer clothes, cars or roads though. The money I save on gas, insurance and car loans I don't have allow me to spend more time with my friends and family. I easily get by working 20 to 25 hours a week. That's what I call wealth. Sorry to look so poor to you, hopefully you can adjust.

Jai

P.S. What could be off topic in a thread called hmmmm makes me wonder.... ?

Re: hmmmm makes me wonder.....

Lol…Don’t you know – over here wealth = money. And yeah I really wish those people from Vancouver would buy some new clothes, make the city look better and have less “immigrants” – that way we will feel happier when we visit.

On a more serious note many people do go on vacation and make conclusions about life in a place and based on my experience you cannot really understand what it is like to live somewhere (especially a different country) unless you live there. For example I’ve had people from over here visit Europe and then complain about how expensive things were – but this is with them staying in the most expensive part of town and buying things at tourist prices. Same thing with people visiting the US – they go to one place and then think the whole country is like that. A good example in fact is services like auto repair or plumbing services – unless you live somewhere you will not experience what these cost.
