Disconnect vacuum advance get a timing lite on # 1 plug and set the timing as desired, also set the point dwell to 30 degrees first.

I was told to set at 12* before TDC.Does anyone know at what RPM?

500 rpms, but at 12* setting if this is a high compression 455 it will ping on regular, also for daily driving you will need lead additive if the valve seats are stock.
