Welcome on your first post on AF.
You need to get it on a transmission/engine capable scanner and check codes and read data out.
Post back codes.

YOU NEED TO FIND A GOOD REPAIR SHOP THAT HAS A TRANSMISSION CAPABLE SCANNER TO CHECK IT OUT.
LOT OF INFO IN ONE OF THEM SCANNERS.
GOOD LUCK MT

i have a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 same problem 2 years ago . solution to fix this is beat the hell out of the tranny till it breaks and get a new one . or spend days under the truck fucking with the thing . it will never be the same if u fix it . just beat it till it busts and drop in a new one

Re: 99 dodge ram fubar tranny

never liked em either. i had problems with one of my trannies a while back where it was goin into and out of Lockup. they went thru the tranny, coded it, and found nothing. turns out....get this...the thermostat. had to take the car to future boss's shop and he figured it out without using the puter crap. woohoo! worked like a champ after replaced a $5 thermostat. sooo that would be why i don't go to em. but i agree with some of the others. beat it and break it. seems to be the only way sometimes. wish i could help tho.

on a sidenote (and probably obvious but i just gotta ask) - how's the fluid look and have ya had the fluid changed? just curious in case there might be crap blocking up parts of the valvebody or something.
