97 1.3 Timing mark Alignment - belt
Hello, I just pulled the belt in order to replace a leaky water pump. I aligned the crankshaft pully to the arrow pointer. The camshaft pulley is 90 degrees off, Points horizontally to the right when facing the engine. Should I turn it back 90 degrees or reinstall where it was. Belt was fine before, by the way.
Also, the Chilton's, evil, manual mentions that I should pull the valve cover and loosen the valve adjusting screws after installing the belt and before turning the engine over two revolutions. It does not mention that I should tighten them up. Any ideas here. Do I even need to do this? Thanks, Don Please respond, I dont' want to pull this thing apart twice. I aligned the crank to the punch mark instead of the dowel and everything became peachy.
