polishing headlight lens, cabin filter, DRL's
Hi Folks,
Couple of quick questions on my 99 K1500, Z71, extended cab. 1. Has anybody had any luck with removing the oxidized scum from the plastic headlight lens ? If so what did you do.. I don't like the crappy looking yellow oxidized film. 2. Do I have a cabin filter in my unit ? if so where is it located for replacement ? 3. How do I disable the daytime running lights ? I have seen post's on pushing the dome over ride button, etc, but I have had no luck ? 4. How do I replace the lamp in the pass door ? Does the lens cover just pop out or what ?? Thanks Much !!!1 |

Re: polishing headlight lens, cabin filter, DRL's
The way you would check for a cabin filter in your unit is to drop your pants look really closely at your unit, if you see an old dirty filter by all means replace it, its a one size fits all piece.
Sorry I just had to, lol. |

Re: polishing headlight lens, cabin filter, DRL's
To temporarily disable the DRL you push the dome override 4-5 times in rapid sucession, as fast as you can.
To replace the bulb in the door you pop out the whole assembly, not just the lens. Put a new bulb in and pop it back in. |

For cleaning the headlights.. I just bought this kit from ckresto.. you might get away with using plastic polish but this kit includes somewhat of a liquid plastic to reseal everything when youre done.. Looks real nice. I used it on every plastic light cover on my truck
