1996 MGM ABS light stays on
My father's 1996 Mercury GM with 68K miles has an ABS light which stays on. The dealership ran diagnostics and found four "codes": C1095, C1165, U1073, U1341. They say he needs a new ABS Pump Assembly, a new Electronic Control Unit and a R/R Speed Sensor. For a total of over $2,000!!!
My questions are these: Could all codes occur simultaneously? Which one probably caused the light to stay on? Do you think he really needs all those new parts? |

An indicator is always on — ABS Possible Source(s): - Circuitry. - Indicator lamp module. - Anti-lock brake control module. Since you have DTCs: DTC C1095 — ABS HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT FAILURE DTC C1165 (RR) — ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT FAILURE C1095 and C1165 rather responsible for the light to stay on. What I mean is that I would start to play with those 2 first. Sorry, have no clue what U1073 and U1341 stand for at this time. Hope this will help, 2OOOLS |
