Loosing a weld in strut tower.
Hi guys.
[EDIT] Sorry that's "losing a weld.." [/EDIT] My left rear strut tower has a weld that is rusting out and seperating from the body. Is it safe to clean it up and weld it back together? Will post pics later tonight. Cheers cl Last edited by crlogic; 08-19-2006 at 07:34 PM. |

Re: Loosing a weld in strut tower.
I wonder how that happened? Do you know if the car was ever in an accident? I see your profile says Kingston - Is that Kingston, IL by any chance?

It's Kingston Ontario Canada actually. http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en...,0.343323&om=1 No accident that i am aware of. No other possible signs of one either. I don't know when that happened or if it was sudden or not. How often do you look at the strut towers since they're under the carpet? Anyone know if it's ok just to weld'r back up? cl |

Re: Loosing a weld in strut tower.
maybe it would be a good idea to swing by a couple of body shops and get their input on it
