Pro Touring 57 Thunderbird
This is AMT's 57 Thunderbird, mixed with Revell's 99 Cobra! This was built for my girlfriend, hence the pink interior (which I kinda like. lol) The engine is a 4.6 DOHC out of the cobra kit, a roots style blower topped with a nice ford air cleaner both thanks to bestresin. The wheels are Pegasus Holly's 19" up front and 23" out back, thanks to Marc Nellis (oakiemodelbuilder). The paint is duplicolor black buried under Omni Clear. I trimmed down the front window to my liking, as well as created the rear roll pan. There are only two things left on this model. the tail lights (which I have misplaced) and the front bumper. I worked on a front bumper which didn't turn out quite like I wanted. For now this is done so I can finish up some of the other projects that I have looming. Enjoy

Re: Pro Touring 57 Thunderbird
thanks. that engine pic looks great. I'm always shocked (doog or bad) when I post photos. I don't look at them I simply upload and insert. lol

Re: Pro Touring 57 Thunderbird
Zippy cool little car. I like how it turned out. The engine is nice too, but I think some ignition wiring would hit the spot, just for some filler mainly. The interior suits the black as do those rims very well. Did this kit come with metal axles? If so I think I can help you with the tail lights if you need them. Just let me check to see if I still have both to be safe. Anywho, I really like the way you finished this. I will look at my AMT T-bird in a whole different way now.

Re: Pro Touring 57 Thunderbird
yes, it had the metal axles. I thought about the wiring. But right now, I'm just trying to knock some kits out. Sharpen some skills here and there in the process. I've told myself for a long time I need to start finishing more than I'm buying. And right now since I don't have the cash to pick up the extra kits I'm gettin it done. lol. I started on some inner fenders that I was going to CF but at the time I just didn't have the patience to finish them.

Re: Pro Touring 57 Thunderbird
Sweet build mate. I like the wheels, they look like a huge old halibrand style wheel.

Re: Pro Touring 57 Thunderbird
GReat work, paint looks really nice. The interior goes well with it. That thing looks fast just sitting there. I like the idea of the new steel engine in there. That car would be a total sleeper!
