b16 upgrade..what should i do?

dont have too much money to work with but im lookin at maybe upgrading my fuel system. What aftermarket fuel rails do you guys think i should get? im lookin at a 2000 gsr fuel rail thats pretty cheap and dont kno if i should get it. will it be an improvement over the stock fuel rail on it?

Im also lookin at strut bars cuz ive noticed that my chassis strength has been sub par since i had to cut some of the front crossmember when i did the swap. any ideas? i dont kno if i should work on more motor stuff since i just did the swap or work on cosmetics like pillar pods and some gauges. are the air/fuel gauges easy to install and what other gauges could i add?

that's great to hear ya want to mod it more.
let's see...fuel rail, str rail are good my buddy has one, aem of course, bdl industries, you can find all of these on ebay for fairly cheap.
strut bars... oh wait you cut your crossmember... hmmmm... i would save a lil and buy a full race traction bar. they great i just got one, and my friend with a 88 hf just got his. strut bars... well... i might be selling my tenzo front bar soon. idk yet... but i do know tenzo, DC, skunk2, so on anf so fourth are good companies for suspesion products. just dont buy the $2.95 special from ebay.lol

air/fuel guages are simple to install, and i would say to stick with electrical guages. they are easier to work with than mechanicals. you could also add volt, water temp., oil temp., oil pressure... etc.

hope this helps.

Re: b16 upgrade..what should i do?

picked up a nice megan racing 4 piece set (tower, rear, lower front, and lower rear) today so hopefully ill get them on soon. anybody kno how hard they are to install? my buddy put a set on his honda and hasnt had any complaints. i dont see them being a pain but who knows with old bolts. seems like everytime i work on my car a bolt somewhere breaks lol.

what fuel rail is on the 2nd gen b16? this gsr fuel rail im lookin at is for a good deal and i need to kno if its gonna be an upgrade to mine. if i dont get that one im lookin at probly an aem one cuz i like that the aftermarket ones have a spot for an adjustable fuel regulator or nitrous hookup.

Re: b16 upgrade..what should i do?

Upgrading the fuel rail won't make much difference unless you upgrade the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and injectors, as well as dyno tune with some sort of management system like Hondata. Seriously, I've heard the stock fuel rail is plenty adequate to hold more pressure than the stock fuel system flows. You may want to read into this more...

Re: b16 upgrade..what should i do?

Re: b16 upgrade..what should i do?

i would say save your money. bambam89lx has some info on this. he looked it up and the stock fuel rails are good for 500hp.

That's what I was saying. That fuel rail probably won't make any difference.

Based on your mod list, I give myself a pat on the back for sounding halfway like I know what I'm talking about... haha...

Re: b16 upgrade..what should i do?

I agree with turtle. You dont need to upgrade fuel rail even if you're goin all motor. Its really needed on FI more than all motor. Otherwise it'll be pointless...
