95 s-10 clutch problems
just recently purchesd a 95 s-10 4cyl 5sp. 130k miles. when you let out the clutch under normal conditions the clutch growls not really a grind. also the clutch lets out all the way at the top. if you let clutch out really slow almost to the point of sliping it no noise. does this sound like a worn out clutch or a master or slave problem any help would be great before i tear in to it or damage something.
thanks bryan |

Make sure you are not getting some front transmission bearing noise. Does it make the same noise in or out of gear? Have you checked the transmission fluid and level? It would be better to have a repair shop listen to it. A trained ear cold pinpoint it better. If it is the clutch the only fix is to replace it. Let us know how it goes. MT

What he said...
There may also be broken damper springs in the clutch plate hub. They typically make noise only on engagements, or a very, very faint "click" or "knock" on the transition from load to deceleration. As MT hinted, however, there are a lot of possibilities. You may soon find yourself here: |
