Thanks guys!

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Parts for your car is a great site to get some stuff to add on to your G/a. If you want to dress it up a little bit you can also check out www.grafxwerks.com they have some nice decals and emblems that look stock but will add that little extra to your car.

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Thanks guys.....I'll check them all out. Not sure about putting decals on my car, though. I don't like stuff that won't come off, like bumper stickers and such. Think I'd rather just bite the bullet and get the real stuff. Do you think a pontiac dealer might be able to get dress kits?

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

The dealerships sell a different hood and wing for the g/a's that you can buy. For body kits and everything else, you have to go aftermarket. I like the SC/t that PFYC provides. The site i provided doesn't just have decals, they also provide new badges (or so the site states) Some of the stuff i have purchased from them looks really good, and it does hold up really well. For instance i changed my front pontiac emblem to reflective black and it's been on there for 4 years now. is there anything particular that your are looking to do to make yours more "unique" to you?

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

I'm not sure yet....looking for ideas right now. I know I definitely want to do chrome tips on the exhaust....probably this weekend. I want to change the emblem on the front...do they come in plum purple? I think plum would look nice with the white, chrome and gray interior. I like the idea of chrome inside on the door instrumentation. The second layer skirt in the from would be awesome and I'd like to get the ram air hood. There is only one car around here like that and it's red. I like the factory chrome rims that are on it, so I think I'll keep those. It was an expensive option. Stuff under the hood would be cool. Any ideas for dressing that up? My other idea is to get the GT emblem painted on the side doors (emblem size, not big) in black, plum and gray with either little flames or lightening bolts running from them, since my car only has the GT emblem on the trunk and RAM AIR Emblem on the front fenders. I like the rear 3rd light idea with the "Grand AM GT" cover. I want a car that looks sharp, not pimped out with flashing lights and stuff. We have enough of those on Hondas and Toyotas around here. Of course, it still needs to see a body shop for those little dents. Someone I know suggested buying paint and filling them in....but I don't know. I'm skeptical about how long that would last.

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Hum, my GT has Grand AM GT on the doors,
and just V6HO on the fenders.

They must hav changed their designs for yr to yr.

THiers tons of stuff out thier, and some places like http://www.customautoaccents.com/ they can do custom stuff, so they say, but it'll probly be more $$.
But spending some ca$h to make your car unique is pricless

I know we all need one of those Ram Air hoods
Haha ! I'd like Two , One for each of my GA's.

Though I do wonder about the aero dynamics of the car with those scooops sticking up on the hood

maeven1966 Let us know what you are looking for,
someone here will surly help you find what youre looking for.

Also , that paint tip might work out fine.
Just need to prep the area before hand.
Clean it after maybe a very light sanding only on the spot that needs fixed.
Use light coats of touch-up paint ,
letting it dry good in between,
and it should hold up for years.

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Yeah....that's what my friend's hubby, Tony said. He suggested an Arctic White Paint pen (I can get it at Walmart)....prep the area and let it dry at least 2 days in between "dabs". Eventually it should fill in and not be noticable....unless you are really looking for it. I'd rather spend a couple hundred doing "other things" to my car. Hubby laughs at me every time I mention "detailing" my car.....you would think a guy would understand these things! Well, if I have to buy stuff and have Tony install it, I will. He's a mechanic and in process of restoring a '74 Chevelle SS for my friend, Kathy (his wife). He's at least one mechanic I can trust.

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Sounds like a good plan anyways

My GA SE has many touch ups,
and I guess the GT does too.

I hav hood scratches from cats(i think running from the dogs) and a real big scratch, fiiled them all with body touch up pins.
Ya I could spend a week sanding the hood/fenders down and repainting it, but why, it'll just get scratched again :

If you get to much in the dent use 500-600(or higher)grit and wet sand it, you'll not even notice after a waxing or two.

btw I trust no mechanic

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

I did have the 3rd brake light cover that said grand am gt on mine, but had to take it off due to NJ state inspection failing me for it. When i did have it on, it did get a lot of attention especially from those little civics that pull up from behind at night... hahahahh!!! Post some pics once you get everything on. There's a link to my cardomain on the bottom in my signature that says "more grand am pics" click on it and you can see the little bit that i have done.

The badges that were on the side that said grand am gt, were only on the car until 2002, after that year they didn't put them on the sides anymore. The only year they put V6HO was the 99's and maybe a few 2000's after that they say ram air v6.

If you do the touch up's carefully they should come out nice. Since you have an Artic white car the touch up is alot easier then the Galaxy Silver Metallic like i have, you can never get that to match correctly.

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Oooooh...I found a chrome gas and brake peddle I like at Auto Zone!
It's a Chinese Dragon!

I'll post updates in about 2 months when I get a few things done to it!

I wonder why my 2002 doesn't have the Grand Am GT on the side. Maybe they stopped at 2001?

Re: Any advice on how to fix this?

Chinese Dragon ?? Hum that sounds kool
Havnt been to the Zone for sometime,
may hav to see what new stuff they are carrying

yes the side and other markers were changed voer the years on GA's.

I thinking of shaving off my badges anyway, just extra weight Causing aerodynamic drag

I've been trying to find a billit fuel door, not the stickers I've seen on the net.
I really liked the older model GA's the had the fuel door that latched, and you had to flip the fuel dooor release to open it.

Ya maeven1966, post some pics when you get'r done
