Retrofit of Catalytic Converter to E38 728iL
I moved recently back from the Middle East to Europe with my E38 728iL 1998 just to find out that my car was not supplied with the catalytic converter when ordered from BMW (Middle East specs). The dealers in Europe do not seem to have ever had to retrofit the converters on such models as they always came with one here in Europe.
Can anyone help on whether it is possible to do is (in Europe) and what are the damages? Shouldn't BMW do something about it? Thanks Nabil Rome, Italy |

Catalytic converter used for emmision control with one condition of using unleaded fule. in midel east in recent year they statrted using unleaded fule and all new cars came with Cat.Con. if u keep ur car without one there is no harm but u will not pass the emmision control test when u testing the car for registration.
