I'd try sunoco seems like I read that they have lower sulphur in gas. The others I don't know. A dirty fuel filter can cause problems also

I've had a similiar problem 2X's. Once with a 96 Ram 1500 5.9L, and a 96 Dak 3.9L. It was the battery both times...not giving constant voltage to the AIS...automatic idle speedmotor. I stumbled on problem by accident....got my voltmeter out and was checking to see if it worked by putting it across the battery...was fluctuating.
