1995 Bon - Speedometer Stuck

The speedometer on 95 Bon does rev rev up and down as it should when engine running. Also, when engine is shut down, it stays at 1000 rpm and does not drop to zero.

Any ideas
Thanks

Mine has done that for over 125k now. After you turn the iginition off turn it back to run then back off it'll zero out for a short time. It hasn't hust anything in any way with mine. and everything still works.
Don't wory, be happy your driving excitment.

Re: 1995 Bon - Speedometer Stuck

I assume you mean the Tachometer that indicates engine RPM, not the speedometer which indicates vehicle speed? The cluster gets it signal from the ignition module, so you may have a corroded terminal that's bleeding current to the guage when the car is off, or it could be the tach itself is going bad.

Correct, it is the Tach, not speed. Thanks for the info above and I just found out that all the indicators on the cluster are doing the same thing. They do not zero down after engine shutdown. I will check for bad grounds. But so far the car fine with all indicators positioning normal when engine is ON.

Thank you

I wouldn't worry about it. Like I said my car has been that way for the last 125k now, sense 1999. It hasn't caused any problems at all.
