86 Camero

I have a 86 camaro V6.I'm having problems with the fuel pump. Ive replaced the pump twice in the last week.
The pump would work for one or two days and then it would not click to show its working.
installation is pretty much straight forward. Any suggestions why it would only work for a short period of time.
I had to splice the wires. I replaced the boot with the first pump and reused it for the second.
All I can think is that I should have soiltered (sorry spelling) the wires
Any and all suggestions is needed
thank you

Re: 86 Camero

You checked the fuel pressure to back up your theory of it not working , right?. Only thing I can think of is that you reveresed polarity or there is a restriction in the line that is burning it out, Good luck
