00 GP GTP dies will driving

I have a 2000 grand prix gtp that dies while driving, it will start right back up. This usually happens a couple of times a day. The fuel pump is new, what else could it be?

Welcome to AF.

Possible crank position sensor for ignition. What does the tach do right before stall and do you have an ABS or trac off lights when it stalls?

Other possibility is a fuel problem related to the fuel pump resistor but car will stall almost within minutes or seconds.

I haven't noticed the trac lights but the tach will raise a little and then go to 0. Generally you stick it in neutral and it starts right back up however the start up has been getting harder (takes longer).

The tach is a key indicator to pursue replacing the crank sensor. It will act up by taking a dip, drop to zero or an uptick right before you physically feel the stall. Bad part is no SES light in many instances.

Just as a safety precaution you might consider checking fuel pressure to rule out the filter and fuel pressure regulator. See if in specs even though you have replaced the fuel pump.

The crank sensor is a Halls Effects electronic device-sensor that is susceptible to heat. Hard starting is another symptom.

The only other possibility is the MAF sensor so check that out too.
