2000 dodge grand caravan stalling problems

Please help....i have a 2000 dodge grand caravan...it started stalling last summer. stalls when slowing at a stop light or turning a corner. will start right back up. diagnostics show nothing. it was fine during the winter, but now has started stalling again. any ideas? thanks

Some areas to look at: Idle Air Control Valve (IAC), fuel filter/pump, engine crank sensor (can create problems without generating a fault code), EGR system.

Recommend you buy a maintenance manual if you don't have one. Fish around this forum. There's lots of info about stalling. Use the search function.

I have expereienced this problem with a 1994 3.3L Caravan. After a lot of trial and error; changed out the TIPS (throttle position sensor), the AIS (automatic idle speed motor), the crank sensor and cleaned the EGR valve, I found the offending component. It was the electric EGR transducer (EET). On the 1994 3.3L this is located near the firewall on the intake manifold just the left of the brake master cylinder. It has two vacum lines and a two wire connection.

Bypassing the EET was done by pulling the top vacum hoses on the EET and plugging them. This eliminated any problems with the computer. This results in no vacum source to the EET and closed the connection to the EGR valve. Once this was done the engine ran fine. This is a simple test that only requires a couple of plugs for the vacum lines. It is a lot simpler than replacing all of the other components. I would recommend that this be tried first before any other part replacement.

I have since read on another forum that one person found that the diaphram of his EET had a hole in it from the exhaust backpressure. I have not pulled my old one apart at this time but I suspect that this may be the case.
