1997 Grand Am Washer Bottle

Anyone know how to fix or replace the winshield washer bottle on the 1997 Grand Am 4 cyl? I've tried without sucess and it almost looks like you have to take the front left fender off to get to it.

Welcome to AF!

Try removing the inner fender and you should be able to access the bottle. If you can't get to it that way you will probably need to remove the fender but it should come out with the inner fender out of the car.

Re: 1997 Grand Am Washer Bottle

You have to remove the headlight assembly, there is a bolt located at the top of the tank, one at the filler neck, which you have to take out of the tank, and 2 bolts on the bottom of the tank. It does come out the bottom, takes some wiggling it around to get it to fit right, then the new tank comes up from the bottom. Make sure you replace the washer pump as well, to change it you have to remove the tank anyway. Good luck, I said lots of bad words when I changed mine.
