97 voyager loss of instrument power
I am having a problem with my 97 voyager, it periodically loses power to the instrument lights and the abs light comes on. After a little while everything powers back up but the check engine light comes on. Any Help would be appreciated.

Re: 97 voyager loss of instrument power
With engine not running check nbattery voltage (should see 12.0VDC) with engine running check voltage (alternator) and should see about 14.1 VDC. A bad alternator or voltage regulator can set off the elcectricls to include the ABS. How old is the serpentine belt on the car?

It's a loose connestion in the inst pannel. My 98 does the same thing. I get it a good pound on the top of the dash above the indt pannel. I need to remove the inst cluster & clean the connections to remove the oxidation at the contacts.

Re: 97 voyager loss of instrument power
This might sound funny but I had a similar problem in mine. Took the car to the shop and it was an electrical short caused by pennies inserted through the cd player. They replaced a shorted board and no problems since. After that I had a serious talk with my 3 year old boy.
