Re: Revell Ferrari F40 1:16

Hi guys,

Getting a little off track, but the 1/12 Revell F40 is definately not a Protar Re-Issue. I've had both, and there are massive differences. Even though the Protar has more features (opening doors, bonnet etc), the moulding is very thick and toy-like in places, the wheels and tyres are much better than the Revell one though, and the engine in the Protar is crap, just the wrong shape, and the body shapes are different - the Protar one seems more 'stubby' than the Revell one! I would have liked better quality on the Protar kit for what they cost! About the coolest part of the Protar kit (mine at least) was that it was moulded in clear....not the best for a prototypical version, but still cool none the less to see all the insides.

I sold the Protar kit, and am going to build the Revell and open the doors on it instead, then try and find some decent wheels and tyres for it as the kit ones suck.
