2000 GA 3.4 - Lack Of power.
A friend has a 2000 Grand Am w/ the 3400 and he says it has no power, when you step on the gas it will not go above 2 grand on the tach and has no power at all.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks Joe |

Re: 2000 GA 3.4 - Lack Of power.
lots of stuff can cause lack of performance.
The worst probly being heat soak. How many miles? Has he gav his GA a tune-up recently? When you say it wont go over 2k rpms, is that with the car moving(forward), or is it in park/neutral when it only goes to 2k rpms?

Re: 2000 GA 3.4 - Lack Of power.
I dunno about the tune-up, was not much of a concern since the engine will not rev above 2k, this is while driving, I am not sure about while in park or neutral.

Re: 2000 GA 3.4 - Lack Of power.
if the plugs and wires checked out ,
then he could hav other problems causing the "lack of power". A fuel filter, bad coils packs, EGR not working proprly. Evn a vacum leak at the manifold, these could be hoses on the intake or gaskets on the intake leaking air in ![]() Hav alot of miles on the car?
