electrical nightmare
i have a 94 camaro. when i first got it it ran great but four days after i got it i spun a bearing
yeah i know you dont got to tell me. but being the camaro loving gear head i am i decided to rebuild the engine and after about a month of work i put my nice new engine back in. i was so happy. after i got everything back in place i tryed starting it. and it started up just fine but it ran rough and it had a loopy idle and would die. so i played with it a little and got it running ok but it would still die or it would go from running ok to rough to loopy to ok and then die for no reason. when i would drive it it would drive ok but then run rough or die. and when it would die it was like someone just turned it off. no stall or nothing. just like someone cut the power. but it would start right up. and sometimes it would shift into gear hard and not shift until a high rpm. if i turned it off and then started it it would be fine. when i ran a diagnostic machine it read that signals where low to the throttle position senser and the distributer and something about PROM error i tryed replacing the distributer and the tps but it didnt nothing besides hurt my wallet so i stopped driving it until i could figure out whats wrong. someone said i could restart the comuter or something. i dont know what to do. HELP ME!

Re: electrical nightmare
As far as the lopey idle, are you sure the plugs are gapped right? One time I mashed the electrodes on 2 when I put hem in and it ran real lopey and would stall out.
As far as the computer thing... wait for Dylan or John - WrightZ28 / FormulaLT1, they'll know what you should do. |

Re: electrical nightmare
Quick abrupt death = electrical/igniton failure.
First thing I would do is make sure that all the grounds are on and snug, didn't receive any damage during the swap. etc. The fact the TPS is throwing a low voltage code is where I would start from. |

Re: electrical nightmare
yes this is an lt1 and no i didnt advance or retard my timing and i did have a very bad ground that i discovered shortly after writing that message and i put the biggest ground possable on it and that made it run a lot better but the tps is still messing up and it doesnt loop but the idle will go back and forth every so often and i dont know if i mentioned this in the last one or not but sometimes when i shift it into gear it will hit HARD and wont shift until almost 4000! but if i pop it in nuetral and turn it off. then turn it back on it will go back to normal. i thought maybe the tps had something to do with that. should i try to replace it even though when i had the diagnostic ran on it it said the signal was the problem? i should have just restored my 67 camaro !!!!
