98 intrigue...ABS and BRAKE light
Acctually i have two issues and im not sure if they are both related to the same problem.
The ABS light comes on after some time then goes off upon restart. As of lately the BRAKE light also comes on.Since my holiday ive noticed a noise comming from the rear wheel like a bad wheel bearing or tire. Here is the other issue....My battery is acting like it is dead.when i hook up a voltmeter to the battery it reads 11v.Then when the cooling fan cuts in the batt. volts jump to 13.8v which to me seems normal.I have a green eye on top of the battery which indicates a good battery and it is green at this time. So i guess my question is this...Would a bad wheel bearing make the ABS and BRAKE light come on?Would a bad wheel bearing cause the ABS and BRAKE light to draw power from the battery?any help would be appreciated.Sorry but i have no time money or patients to deal with dealerships.hence my post |

Re: 98 intrigue...ABS and BRAKE light
Your problem could be a hub/bearing/wheel sensor but it could be other things like an ABS motorpack or EBCM module. Therefore, it needs to be scanned using an ABS capable scanner to see what ABS or Chassis codes may be stored.
How is the conventional braking? Fluid level OK? After letting it sit over night what does the battery voltage read? Check before starting the engine. You could be getting a parasitic drain from some electrical component or wiring problem. Also, you could get the battery/charging system tested.
