Will swirl/scratch remover work on plastic???

Somewhat odd question...do you guys think it would work to use a scratch/swirl remover on headlights (plastics)? I have some very light scuffs on my headlights (caused by the body shop accidentally getting rubbing compound on the headlights while using it on the rest of the body) and I was wondering if one of a good scratch/swirl remover works on plastic as well....
