tranny prob ???
My 2001 gt is acting really strange latley. For the past year it would surge around the 45-50 mph but within the last 2 wks this is what is happening. First of all it has 214000 miles on it because i drive 100 miles per day just to work.. On my to work it has great performace still considering the mileage but on the way home (prob about 40 miles) it will almost act like it has died then after about 1- 2 seconds it will take off again. At first I thought it had to do with running the air and it was just too much for it so I stopped using the air but it is still happening not as bad though. The other day the temp gauge went up about 5 marks if that could help any. Took it to the dealership and of course since no computer codes they could not figure out anything. ran the fuel pressure test and said it was as 55 pounds so nothing there. Did say the surging prob is my tourque converter selenoid(sp). I bought some lucas transmission additive to try but until I read this sight was unsure where to put it because of no dipstick!!! got luv these gm people. Sorry it's long but would appreciate any advice.

Re: tranny prob ???
You're right, no whoever engineered it without a dipstick is a dipsh*t. Anyway, look down the right side of the engine as you're facing the car (driver's side) and you should see a red cap on top of the transmission. Reach down there (make sure the engine is cool because you are likely to come in contact with the exhaust manifold, hoses, and other hot parts) to unscrew the cap. To add any fluids, you will need a long funnel. As for whether your additive will work, I have no idea. I'm having similar problems and am hoping Aamco can give me a more specific diagnosis because I got nowhere with a mechanic and am trying to avoid the dealer. No computer codes, but the transmission feels like it is slipping when the car is in overdrive and needs just a little more power to climb a slight hill, for example. If I put some pressure on the accelerator, it goes right into gear. It only happens when a marginal amount of power is needed as if the car can't decide whether it can generate enough torque in overdrive or needs to drop out of overdrive. I have also noticed that like with your GA, it seems to happen after work when the car has been sitting on the lot baking in the sun for 10 hours. Drives fine in the morning when it has been in a dark, cooler garage. Good luck! If I learn anything from my experience, I'll post it here.
