Bearing noise on 91 PA

My 91 PA is making some noise that sounds like worn bearings while at high speed. Its definitely coming from the front drivers side. I looked into getting them replaced, but it looks like a PITA to do or at least very expensive. If I decide to dump more money into this car, I might as well do the whole drivetrain, including the cv axles and boots.

Has anybody replaced the bearing/hub assembly before? Is it really a huge pain? Are CV axles expensive to replace or is it worth it to pop them open, inspect for wear, then relubricate and replace boots?

What should I do? This car has always taken lots of maintenance money I probably should have put into a newer car, but Ive enjoyed working on it, and Ive enjoyed the buick ride. In the worst case, I'll probably wait until the bearing fails, then part out the car. Anybody interested in a 3800 V6 engine with 100k miles, and a rebuilt tranny with only about 35k miles on it?

oh yeah, practically new struts too... Id like to fix the bearings but Im afraid its going to be cost prohibitive. Even if I do the labor
