98 autotrac tansfer case fluid capacity

I changed the transfer case oil in my 98 autotrac Tahoe today and I need to know what the proper refill capacity is. I drained out approx. 1.5 qts., the Autozone refill specs on their website say that the capacity is 2.7 qts. I put approx. 1.5 qts. back in and fluid was running out the fill hole. I just want to verify if this is the correct fluid amount. Thanks
