I have a severe rattle / clanking from the rear of my 03 Trailblazer ext. It sounds as if the bottom of the truck is loose and it happens whenever I drive over the slightest bump, rock, etc... I have taken it into the dealer. They have confirmed the noise but tell me everything checks out okay. Including the sway bars.
Another tech ( who has not heard nor seen my car ) told me it WAS the sway bars and that it was a very common problem with the Trailblazer. I don't know what to do.... Other than driving around with my windows closed so I don't hear it as loud as those outside of my car. I did see there was a service alert for rattling/clanking in the Trailblazer and I brought it to my dealer.... He said they can't find anything wrong. They won't find the problem until I go to trade it in for another truck ...Then they'll tell me it needs to be fixed. ![]() Tell me... someone else has to have this same problem! |

Re: 03 EXT Rattling and Clanking!!
Bad stablizer bar (sway bar) end links. Very common, lots of posts on it. New end links will solve this.

Re: 03 EXT Rattling and Clanking!!
So ... What's up with a chevy dealer that says the sway bars are fine? I'm tired of paying for their "time" only to be told there's nothing wrong.

Re: 03 EXT Rattling and Clanking!!
The sway/stablizer bars ARE fine. It's the end-links that are bad. They are attached to the bar towards each wheel and are technically a seperate component from the sway bar. Your GM dealer sounds like your typical knuckleheads.
