does anyone know what temp the cooling fan should come on a 01 chevy cav

well seeing as i think 95-01 cavs had the older 2200 engine, i know my 96 kicks on about 3/4 of the way up sometimes a little higher. I dont know why it waits for so long to kick on i think its a stupid idea. Most cars, even neons the fan kicks on if it gets a smidgeon over half.

im looking into problems with my fan right now...my fan kicks on at about 210
i have a 2000 cavalier and my temp sits at 198 (in between the middle notch and the next notch over)

not sure what the exact temperature is but on my 2200 the fan will kick on when the guage gets to about 3/4, and then it will go back down to exactly halfway, then back up to 3/4, only gets that high when im parked for a while though

Mine does the same except sometimes it nearly overheats. I turn the AC to turn the fan on. Then it cools down. What the (bleep) was GM thinking doing it like this?
Now I know rigging in a fan switch is a good idea.. Ill do it this weekend... |
