Problem with Cats

On my 99 TC Exc the cats have become plugged and are bad (local mechanic backed verified my suspension. Is there a way to over ride the computer into thinking that 4 cats are there and only install 2 cats. Also, any ideas about aftermarket or OEM. The car is running so crappy now and im getting 7.8 MPG. Thanks in advance,

well there is one way, but ive never tried it. its an old mechanics trick but like i said i never tried it. you can splice together the wires goin to the O2 sensors which will send a default code to the computer recognizing that the CATS (which are not there) are presently running in normal parameters. this was done on my 92 De Ville. my mechanic removed one of the two cats that were there presently when i had my flowmasters installed. however, the OEM II computers are out, and my deville had just an OEM. but from what i understand, the trick is splicing the wires that plug into the O2 sensors. like i said, however, ive never tried it...
