Manual to automatic conversion

I recently acquired a 2003 Mazda miata shinsen edition.. i wanted to convert the transmission from manual to automatic.. does anyone know of a price estimate for doing this?

lotsa lotsa lotsa money. you would have to get the trans, a new pcm, a different wiring harness, cooler lines, driveshaft possibly and other stuff that im sure im forgetting at the moment... the tally would probably eclipse the value of the car

Why would you want to do that? Miata's are roadsters its all about being the car?

yeah, go buy an automatic and sell the Shinsen to someone who knows how to drive and appreciate the car....

All things being equal, used Miata automatics sell for LESS than manuals. That means, the swap will cost you twice. Of course, the idea borders on the obscene too.
