alright guys i was drivin to work today and when im driving i definately hear the wheel wobbling. when i got to work i pushed on the top of the wheel and there is a good little bit of give. all my lugs are tight but i think it could be the axle nut since there is some play in it. going to look at it today after work if i get the chance. anybody else have this problem??

Re: Wheel wobble
Ball joints could be shot, and yes it happens in old cars, I just replaced one of mine, and my rack is shot on the left side too, makes the most amazing noises when I wiggle the wheel while its in the air, oh well, its gotta go anyway..busted suspension a few days abo and tore everything to shit..

Re: Wheel wobble
im hopin it isnt the ball joint..im tired of fixing shit all the time on this car and ball joints are such a pain in the ass, ill check it out later today cuz it sounded pretty bad on the way into work this morning. how long did it take you to fix it frodo? im hopin its just my axle nut cuz theres a good chance that it was loose.

Re: Wheel wobble
k just got done workin on it..jacked it up and took off the wheel and the axle nut was a little loose but the wheel still has play..im thinkin ball joint cuz it looks pretty bad and i had to wail on it with a sledge when i put this motor in. i tried wiggling the whole control arm but nothin really moved so idk whats goin on. the rotor also has a little wiggle in it and i dont remember if thats normal or not. i figure it probly tightens down when the wheel is on but im just askin to make sure. anybody know about how much it would be for a shop to fix this cuz i sure as hell dont want to mess with that ball joint again.
also, when i got my oil checked yesterday the guy said my timing was a little off, how do i adjust the dizzy to correct my timing issue? how do i tell if its advanced too much or retarded

Re: Wheel wobble
Took me like an hour in blazing heat, and that was with running to get a pickle fork because my hammer wasnt cutting it.. I just replaced the whole upper arm on the right side, also, if it feels like its wobbling, make sure you check your axles, if it isnt intothe tranny or int. shaft all the way it will make a wobbling feeling, especially on decel in gear. Really got me worried, turned out there was no ring on the end to lock it in, so it slipped out a little..

Re: Wheel wobble
yeah i see that the axle isnt popped in all the way. the clip probly came off before i put it in. can i find these at autozone or wherever?? whats the best way to pop the axle back in cuz i remember it was a pain to do the clip on the other side.
with the ball joint how do i pry the snapring off and remove the circlip? ill just need to go rent a press from autozone to get it out/in right?
