Finding a Job - It never ends

This is bull shit. Trying to find a job this summer is impossible. Its really pissing me off now.

I started applying for jobs in May. I applied to several body shops, fabrication shops, race teams, and so forth. All of those places turned out not to be hiring so I proceeded to look for retail stores that were hiring. Three Home Depots in the area said they were hiring, three Lowes said they were hiring, the Blockbuster was hiring, and Super Target was hiring.

I applied to all the lowes in the area. Called back "We're not hiring". They didnt ask for my name, they didnt ask for any info, they didnt bother to check. So I applied to all the Home Depots, same fucking run-around. Went to apply to blockbuster, same bullshit. I applied to target as well as a last hope. They had an ad in the paper saying they were hiring, they had signs, then I call back today and they immediately say they arent hiring. Sp I start asking why they have all these ads for hiring when they arent. "Well we just want apps for hiring in a few weeks".

This is fucking bullshit. I have never had a problem getting any job I've wanted in the past. So it cant be that Im not qualified. Im seriously getting pissed as hell about this. Im running out of time because school starts mid August.

Meanwhile I've got my parents jumping all over me about finding a job. They are getting pissed off (its like they dont think Im looking at all).

That reminds me. I worked in a warehouse loading and unloading 5 gallon water jugs off of trucks. Wonder if I can get a job there again.

This is why summer in the southern hemisphere rules. The shops gear up for Christmas so they take on shitloads of extra staff

Re: Finding a Job - It never ends

Well I got a job at the local dairy (haha Wisconsin ). I actually had to call the guy and everything because normally when you hand in the application they do an interview. Well my uncle works there so he gave in a good word about me and I start Monday. I hope you guys can get a job soon.

You can't wait for them, you have to go in (with a completed application) and ask to see a manager.
-it works every time.

Just ask the manager if he has some free time, then ask away. If he is currently busy, ask when would be the best time to reach him.

Don't wait for shit to happen.
Nobody gives a damn about you, so you have to take the offensive.

I know a couple youngin folk(16-17) that have trouble finding jobs, I looked at the one that lives around corner. I was like no wonder why. His spelling was like he was talking on the computer to someone. I'd suggest changing your spelling

You need to keep calling the store manager until you get answer, cant wait for them to call.

Yeah but getting in their hair too much will piss them off. You have to be careful about how much you call.
