Can unlatch the passager side of my 81 corvette

Hey Y'all, I can't get the hood to unlatch on the passager side. I'm new here and I have done a search on this and found this to be a common problem, I just never got a real answer from the thread I read. Can anybody up date me on this. I removed the side vent doors on the front fenders and styck my arm, but could not reach the latching mechanism. Also, I can not get the drivers side of the hood higher than .5 inch. Hope someone here can help.

I can't see the latch from the windsheild/hood cause I wiper arm cover.

I finally got it. Thanks for everybodies help. I will post some pictures to remendy this problem before it hammens to you.
