Re: Twin Turbo Stealth. Will not Crank. Help.
Ha! I was thinking fuel from the beggining... Fuel pump is located under a small metal pannel in the trunk (very easy to get to and replace , esp. if you have extras laying arouin damaged cars!) ant the fuel filter is on the firewall underneath your battery tray... Look for a how to with pics ... i think i found one at stealth316.com... that helps alot.. fi;ter isnt too bad really just concentrate that you are turning the wrenches the right way... You could also have a leak in the fuel line but then you would be smelling gass something feirce... check the connections on the pump first i say... good luck.
EDIT: Thank you mitsubishi for not putting the fuel pump in the tank!!! |

Re: Twin Turbo Stealth. Will not Crank. Help.
if you have an alarm on the car, i would test that to make sure its not malfunctioning. i have a clifford, and the kill-start mechanism went bad on me after 4 yrs. that's what wouldn't let me start the car, and i just got clicking all the time, no matter what else i did to try to start it. you can easily bypass the alarm to keep her running.
however, it seems as though you've pinpointed the problem with the fuel. good luck with it.

UP FOR SALE!!! 92 Twin Turbo.
Hey hey hey. After the fuel pump, fuel filter, you name it, I swapped it. It fired up and runs. Drove around the block. Going to still need some TLC, but it is ready. After all that, it is up for sale. This was my brother's car. He bought it for his wife some 8-9 years ago. She drove it for awhile, new motor probably 50k miles ago. Only 130k on entire car. Parked it probably 4-5 years ago. Towed it from move to move. The last time he moved, told me to come and get it. Done my homework, did the work, time to get the rewards. It is a Black 92 Dodge Stealth twin turbo. Body is straight, no wrecks. Paint is good minus some nicks, dings, clear coat peel, etc... Interior is all there, seats, as usual, torn, but covered with leather like seat covers. Factory wheels, all factory (no mods), tires are old, but good for small distance. What is this car worth now???
Thanks to everyone for their help. |

Re: Twin Turbo Stealth. Will not Crank. Help.
congrats, man! i would say the fuel filter is probably THE most neglected regular maintenance part on cars; there's no way to test how long its been since changed last, and once you remove it, you might as well change it. recommended service for it is once a year or every 30k miles. i'll have to change mine again coming up soon.
so she runs well. and i assume you want to sell it and not keep it? since you've done all the maintenance on her and she runs, why not enjoy her for a little while, maybe she'll grow on you. as for appraising, i'd say anywhere from $5k-$8k depending on various other factors. but i would recommend you go to kbb.com, edmunds.com, and nadaguides.com for free online appraisal values. then average those for the condition its in. also, check back with us. we'd like you to find a good home for her, and i know you'd like to get the right amount for her, too. hey, could you post up some pics?

Re: Twin Turbo Stealth. Will not Crank. Help.
yeah! right on dude! for sure though lots of times people are complaining about lost power or trouble starting it is the fuel filter never been changed for 150000 miles and you take it off and black gunk comes out the end... sucks that they are so much work to get to on a 3s; on some cars they are super easy to change...
anyway lets see some pics of the car! Last edited by liquidPunk; 07-20-2006 at 11:16 AM. |
