My Car F#@%@%! Hates Me!

Yes its true. My car absolutely positively HATES me. How do I know this? She gives me constant shit. Every time I fix one problem, I get another. Each one more annoying than the next. Sometimes the problems are mysterious to all who dare to inspect her evil innerts. Let me run down a brief history of me and that evil mistress I call my vehicle.

Currently I have a loud scraping noise coming from the rear right brake assembly. I was told one possible source by one shop, they said it was fixed... yeah right. The problem persists to this day continually pissing me off.

The above ailment presented itself the same weekend inwhich I replaced my previous no name lowering springs with a full Tein coilover set. One of the reasons for replacing the entire set was groaning and creaking springs in conjunction with a mysterious loud creaking noise that occurred only when I turned left. No one that looked could figure out why this happened.

Beginning before the suspension woes but continuing during them, my engine decided to hesitiate during steady throttle at about 3500rpm for no apparent reson. After numerous fuel system cleanouts, throttle body cleaning, and intake manifold inspection, no solution was found. The problem seems to have stopped but I don't know why.

Also during the "Hesitation Era" was a severe stuttering under load. The car ran like it was missing two cyulinders. This was solved when I replaced my spark plug wires, but why it began so suddenly is unknown.

I won't go into detail about the millions of dents, dings, and scrapes on the body from other vehicles since I can't really blame my car for it, but deep down I think she likes it.

This is just a sampling of my life with my car since 2001 when I got her and she officially waged war on me. If you have taken the time to actually read this nonsensical rant, I commend your patience for there is no personal gain to be had in reading anything that flows from my brain. But I had to put my anger into words because at this point, I'm ready to put my fist through the windshield. I know others have problems with their cars but I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a personal attack on my psyche... and she's winning

Side note: this rant could quite possibly be the byproduct of the fact that its 100 degrees in Chicago all day today and I got no AC... its quite maddening

Pickle, you gotta show the Pickle Mobile who's boss early. I think I babied my car too much in the early years and so now she thinks she can run me into the ground.

To add insult to injury, I think she sensed my post and got mad. Now the $700 coilover system I just bought is squeaking on one corner. True, this can be solved with 20 minutes and some grease but it still strikes me as odd that it happened as soon as I talked shit about her on the internet

Maybe you should advertise your car for sale so it gets all worried and steps back in line?

How the hell did these cars get a good reputation for reliablity? I've never got one past 100,000 kms without some sort of drama.

I'm starting to wonder that myself. My car hasn't had any sort of major malfunctions, just many small annoyances that sometimes partially comprimise the car's ability to perform. My family has had nothing but Accords since 1989 but this one is by far the most troublesome. My mom would love to argue that its due to "all the stuff" I put on there, but an intake doesn't screw your whole car over and everything else is cosmetic.

only thing i've ever had to do to my accord was replace an o2 sensor. it's a 97 with 92k miles on it. seems to be holdin up alright, but pretty soon something will happen (just a hunch after readin all this). i had an 88 legend with 220k miles on it, the only major thing i had to do was replace the high pressure steering hose.

My 2000 has about 83k on it now. 8k are from the 1000 mile trip from home to school. My dads old 89 accord had 230k and had clutch replaced and not much more than that. Only reason its not still around is that it got totaled when somebody ran into the front quarter panel in 2001. The damage was only like $400 but that was more than half the estimated value of the car according to State Farm

yeah, i think overall the build quality of cars is goin down. seems like the older cars lasted longer.

sorry to hear that man. but honestly, my civic's running at almost 200,000miles on it and has never done anything bad to me, plus she's been in 2 pretty nasty crashes... ok... she has bitched at me once, by blowing a head gasket, but that was once, and i'm willing to forgive her for that. Everyone's sayin "taht's a honda for ya", well, here's my honda, and she's amazing. I hope you can get her under control again, good luck

My car has been in one crash on Valentines Day 2003. Front end got smashed up a bit and most of the problems have come since then. All the suspension problems have been with the front and I wonder how much of that has to do with the crash, but the engine mysteries are a separate issue. ant whatever is going on with my rear wheel (I'm now starting to think it could be the front) is a mystery to everyone. my friends dad wanted to hear it, so I took him for a spin around the block and it didn't make the noise Everytime I go to the shop, no noise, but as soon as I get on the road for 10 minutes, I hear it. Drives me crazy. And I have to drive to Wisconsin this weekend, so if it aint fixed by then I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'll be damned if I get on the highway and whatever it is decides to break down all the way
