Should I get this 2000 Trans-AM WS6

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=50
Well I sold me DSM like a while ago and I finally paid off my 1500 in tickets and got my licence back. So I'm looking for a car. I have about 14k saved up and my parents are giving me 1000 for graduating college and I'm thinking about what car I should get. Now I've been trying to figure out if I should just save up my 15k and use it to purchase a fixer up home with my father, fix it up and sell it. Or if I should just go all out now and get the Red EVOIX MR that I dream about (Or 2003 Z06).
If I decide to not spend the 15k, then I'm looking for something where I can put down only 1-2k and I can have payments of around 300 or less. So what I'm looking at is cars that are in the 18k or below range.
I found this WS6 earlier today on Trader and I've been contemplating if I should get it of not..... My problems with it are the age, and the fact that its not a 01-02 with the 15 extra hp. Plus I think the price is kinda high, but I hope to talk em down about 2-3k.
What do you guys think about this? If not, other reccomendations are welcome.

Looks great, I'll take it!
I don't see anything wrong with it and it has great miles. But this is a bit of a bias forum I think.

Re: Should I get this 2000 Trans-AM WS6

Well, if im not mistaken, the 01-02 tramsams had the ls6 cam which gave them a little bump in HP. And I kinda feel funny paying out almost 17k for a almost 7 year old car. If I talk em down 2-3k then I guess it would be cool.

from the factory:

98-00 LS1 had 305hp
01-02 had 310hp.
ws.6/ss had 325 hp.

reality:

98-00 AVARAGE 320hp
01-02 AVARAGE 340hp
(sometimes these numbers are lower or higher, l just posted the avarage numbers)

ws.6/ss about hp. they are the same as regular trans am/ camaro (that was just marketting)

99-00 trans am / camaros had more aggressive cams and LS1 intake

01-02 trans am / camaros had less aggressive cam and LS6 intake ( the LS6 intake bumped a little more hp.)

a 4 year old car thats been driven like a two year old car. make sure it hasnt been beaten..and if its all in good condition, talk him down as low as he can..then take it! the price is only gonna go up... OR, you can wait till the price MIGHT go down when the new camaro comes out..

The difference in the cam is VERY minimal. Not really noticeable.
Most 98-00 LS1 F-Body's make 285-310 RWHP depending on tranny.
Most 01-02 LS1 F-Body's make 295-315 RWHP depending on tranny.

I really doubt the Firechicken's prices will go down thanks to a new Camaro.
