We have 2 Grand Marquis Ls, one was a 1989 Grand Marquis LS no real big probs, died with over 330,XXX on it. and it really did not die, stop running it because it was blowing blue smoke., then we have a 2000 Grand Marquis LS. That was pretty good, no real probs. Spark Plugs Or what ever they are, there hard to change. Truned that car in got $7,000 have abount 80,XXX miles. Then we went with the 2005 Xg350L.

Re: How do you like your Grand Marquis??

My mother-in-law needed a new vehicle 2 years ago to replace her '93 Explorer rust bucket. I happened to drive by a '95 Grand Marquis for sale and she ended up buying it after I gave it a after a thorough inspection. She absolutely loves the car and the only charges she has incurred over the last 2 years were for oil changes, one rusted out brake line,(very common problem in this part of the country, and state mandated yearly emissions/safety inspections.) She drives it daily all over hells half acre and it's the perfect vehicle for her. I've noticed practically all of the local, county, and state police forces use the Crown Vics, and some of our local taxi companies use the Grand marquis in their fleets. I've also noticed that these vehicles tend to hold up better in this part of the country,( central NY, king of the Rustbelt.) I still see a lot of mid to late '80s and up Crown Vics, LTDs and Marquis still on the road and their bodies are still in decent shape. I also wanted to add that my mother-in-law was at first hesitant when I told her about the car since she only wanted a 4 wheel drive or front wheel drive car. She was afraid she wouldn't be able to get around our hilly terrain in the winter, but I told her with a good set of snow tires, it wouldn't be a problem...and I was right. She's now glad she got the car.

Re: How do you like your Grand Marquis??

What can I say but right on Brother. I live way down South and people go thru "car trends." First Volvos then Beemers then Jags then Mercedes and after several years finally wised up, (or got tired of paying $54. for a Mercedes oil and filter change), and started buying Marquis and Vic's. Man oh man, you ought'a see the way they jive up and pimp-out those Marquis and Vics with those cool tires and wheels! HeHeHeHe . . . . I love it and if I wasn't so old I'd pimp ours out to, then wifey would choke me because the Marquis is hers and I drive the Taurus and love it to.
