Exclamation The Special classes: A quiz for you!

An interesting thing about the hillclimbs are the special classes.
There are 3 of them and the only difference is engine displacement.
Special 3 has the largest displacement.
Other than engien size, there is more or less, no other rules.
Build or buy what you want and race the living day lights out of it.

At the Giant's Despair Hillclimb there were 5 entrants in Special 3.
Nowhere else would you see these 5 cars compete against each other.

Now, without cheating by looking at the results, can you place the 5 cars in order that they finished? (quickest to slowest) I'm listing them in the order of their racing numbers:

#4. 80's Corvette with a sweet supercharger:

#28. A home built car designed by it's owner:

#63 Ford Falcom with 600+ hp

#98. Bobby Rahal's 1990 Inday car:

#178 Chevy Blazer with a NASCAR engine, suspension and wheels.

I know the Indy car came in first... the rest no clue... I'm sure they're all stupidly fast.

Re: The Special classes: A quiz for you!

1. indy car
2. home built thing, i think its awesome.
3. blazer
4. corvette
5. falcon

the one thing that baffles me is why the guy chose to put a nascar engine in a blazer... why not choose a sports car or something?

Re: The Special classes: A quiz for you!

If you met Butch ... the owner of the Blazer, you would understand.
He comes from the mountains of New England and enjoys racing in a unique vehicle ...even his tow vehicle is unique.

He is using a retired 24' Penske moving truck that has been convertered into an apartment upfront and has room for the Blazer in the back

Re: The Special classes: A quiz for you!

Bleh, where I was (moms work) I couldn't check the results of the race... stupid computer was too slow to do more than one internet page at a time... and the screen so small.

Oh well... hehe.
