Where is the ECM/PCM located?
Looks like I need to replace my ECM (1995); I know another post mentioned that it was under the dash but can anyone tell me exactly where? Also are there any tips or tricks to getting it removed? Wife hasn't been able to drive the car and let's face it, when Mom ain't happy nobody's happy!!

Re: Where is the ECM/PCM located?
Unfortunatly, I need to find mine too. The AutoZone site says that it under the right side of the dash behind the kick panel.

Re: Where is the ECM/PCM located?
Grandpa,
I should have looked before the last post. I just took the puppy out and besides having to contort myself to lay on the floor of the car, It was not very hard to find or remove. Under the right side dash below the glove compartment, there is a cover with two small screws (on the front side towards the seat) which hold in the panel. remove the screws and the panel should drop down. The ECM is mounted up inside the recess with two long wire connectors. Mine was mounted in a white holder. With a flashlight you can see some large plastic clips. move these clips to unclasp and the module just wiggled down to the floor. The housing looks to be an aluminum cast body. It took about 10 - 15 minutes for the entire operation. Pretty quick by Aurora standards! For a picture, you can visit ebay and find some for sale with a picture. Hope this helps! |

Re: Where is the ECM/PCM located?
Thanks for the reply, I will be taking it out this week. I'm thinking of using the following site to ship my ECU and have it rebuilt. http://www.ecudirect.com/index.asp
I'll let the forum know the results when the car is back up and running...... Has anyone else used this company before? |
