Re: Supercharger question

Saw on ebay a guy that rebuilds superchargers for the PA. Cost was $160.00 and free shipping. Uses all new bearing parts, and if you need it immediately, he will send you one with a core deposit of $140.00 (I think I'm right on that price...CHECK FIRST). Anyway, he is on the ebay site under a search for supercharger.

Re: Supercharger question

After looking at links provided and other threads in here, it appears my Supercharger with a rattle during idle in "drive" is more or less just the coupler and not really the bearings.
Interesting!

Re: Supercharger question

I took mine apart, pretty scared doing it after reading HotZ's post on 07-02-06, and found it just needed a coupler also. I had mine off in less than an hour and this is my first time doing it. All the bearings are in great shape, and no slack. Just a lot of carbon cleaning on the inside.

Vljenewein, thanks for that info. Do me a favor and go read the post on 7/6/06 by HotZ, read the links too. Tell me what you think after that.

Re: Supercharger question

I think I'll be getting ahold of the guy listed on the coupler links is what I think! That ebay member is 100% good and lives in Grand Rapids, MI. I LIVE near Fennville, MI about 45 miles from there. Price of supercharger oil plus the coupler is really an excellent deal for the money.

BTW I and vljenewein are one and the same. I popped in here recently after doing a search on google, and thought this was such a nice forum site I signed up with this name. The settings have changed since I first signed up. Now I have to be careful who I am signed in as, but the forwarding email I have on my other name "vljenewein" now comes to the same server as my regular mail, so get a double dose. The layout had really changed, and I like it. It had changed so much I really didn't realize I had already signed up (registered) until I noticed in my saved "favorites" under links/forums that they both had the same icon for my web URL.

Anyway, my 1993 supercharger just rattles like there is a bad belt tightener bearing or some spare parts loosely rattling around in there some where. I was told by everyone that it was the supercharger bearing. Now I know different..

BTW you know the definitions of a helicopter? A collection of spare parts loosely assembled around an oil leak.
