Roadmaster remote program

How do I program my new remote to open the doors on my 1996 Roadmaster wagon?

Thanks, I viewed this procedure and looked in the rear of my wagon, but, even after taking out the side panel I couldn't find the plug and wire described. I'll try taking out more stuff.

If you push aside the molding on the rear driver side pillar post (just behind the rear window) you will find a small black circuit for initializing the keyless remotes. Take some copper speaker wire & bridge the two metallic nodes (completing the circuit). When this is done, you will notice the door locks will begin cycling automatically - click one button on each remote sequentially and the system, in turn, will store the code for each remote. Remove the wire & put the molding back in place - you're done.

One of my remotes quit working-put in new batteries-no luck-any typical problems to look for? Could one of the remotes have become "unprogrammed"?
Also, is there any way to add a "horn beep" or any other features to the programming?

My problem was that I only had one remote and I wanted to program another. In doing that I did program both of them. Try reprogramming both. As far as the beep, if the manual does not refer to that you probably can't. But, someone may have a way to do that. Good luck, Ken

I have a 94 Roadmaster sedan and I can't find the "Plug" in my trunk. Can somebody post a picture of what I'm supposed to be looking for?

I have a Wagon, but, the "plug" is actually a receptacle. It's black plastic with two wires and there are two slots for a connecting plug. And, there's no "plug" to go into it. On the sedan, it should be behind the panel on the drivers side of the trunk. It's about 3/8 inch square and 1 1/2 inches long. Try some of the links in the other replies, especially the Impala Club link. Don't give up, Ken

Thanks man. I'm gonna try to find a picture cause I think my plug might be missing. Like there's a wire that was cut or something. I hope it's not for the release.
