No fuel pressure

My 95 blazer started to bog and loose power and then kick in again. After doing this a few times it started to stall out and now it wont start at all. I know I have a bad cpi and I have the parts to replace it but I have no fuel pressure at all. I pulled the filter and replaced it. the pump doesnt sound like it turns on when I turn the key. Any other problems other then a bad pump that would cause no pressure. and it does have gas.

Thanks

Well, if you know you have a bad CPI, your regulator could have comepletely blown..

Re: No fuel pressure

There may be better ways to do this but a quick way is to pull one side of the fuel filter off and point it into a coffee can while someone turns the key on, don't start the truck, just turn the key to the ON position. If you don't get any fuel pumping out into the can, your fuel pump is not getting power or is shot completely.

If you do get a steady stream of fuel, then you can eliminate the fuel pump as the culprit.

Re: No fuel pressure

Just my two cents worth, I have lost two fuel pumps on my 93, very common problem. If you are going to have the truck long, invest a few bucks in a fuel pressure guage, and a good manual. You do have a fuel pump relay that can go bad, but this does not happen too often. You should be able to hear the pump kick on, or at least the relay clicking when you turn the key. Always can be other things such as a broken wire etc., but a guage is cheap, ditto on the manual.

Thanks
Proper testing first.
Check for 12 volt voltage and ground and wiring to fuel pump.
If no run and it has voltage and ground replace it.
If it runs but not with the right amount of pressure replace it.
