Alero won't start - power lock won't work

Hi everyone,

I have an Alero 2000. It started fine last night, but today, it won't start. The starter turns, but the engine doesn't seem to fire, or at least, it dies right away. I think this might be an electrical problem, as I noticed that the power lock button inside the car won't work (locking or unlocking the car doesn't work). The trunk release button doesn't work anymore either. And when I turn the key in the ignition, I don't hear the "ding ding ding" sound that used come out.
On the other hand, the power windows, turning signals, emergency signal, headlights, power mirrors are still working fine.

Any idea what could be going on? What to check?

Hi,

For those interested, turned out the heater motor had a water leak. This corroded the BCM (Body Control Module).
