No, the D16A6 i different, it came out of USDM 88-91 civic/crx si's. The ZC was in Japanese versions. So be sure to specify which one you want.

WORD...I greatly appreciate all your help!!! I'm sure I will have more questions come up once I get moved in into my house and then start planning the engine swap. I'm pretty excited though to see how much pep its gonna gain from the newER motor in it. Until then you all take it easy!

Well, physically they are the same motor, except the sohc zc had slightly more agressive cams.

Just get any sohc d15 or d16 motor that's non-vtec. They will all work fine as a replacement motor, just use your intake manifold and distributor. I doubt you are going to find any healthy D15B2's around. You can find a D15B7 which is the SAME exact motor, just newer. Also, a sohc zc, d16a6 or d16y7 would also be a good replacement.

theres a little diffence, the pistons and cam are diffent, maybe 10+hp at the most from a a6 to a sohc zc, they dont burn oil either, but then again it depends on what condition the motor is in, mine runs perfect off of the si computer........if i were u, id just do the wiriing for mpfi and get a sohc zc, more power and its not that hard......do a search for mpfi swap.....

Re: Engine Questions...89 Wagon

Guys...I found a D15B2 for sale. It has around 120k miles on it (which aint nuthin for these hondas). He said it is missing the tps sensor but other than that it is all there. He is asking 120 dollars for it. Does this seem like a reasonable deal? It would be a very easy swap since its the same engine. Thanks!

Yah, as long as it doesn't smoke...i'd get it for a replacement motor. Just swap your throttle body onto it.
