Exclamation BMW Alpine CVA 1000r

I recently bought a BMW 316 (no comments please) but it was fitted with full alpine CVA 1000r system (2 additional screens- dvd player) also the car had JBL subs and amps in the boot... All was well when i bought the car apart from the sub wasnt workin and there was only power going to two of the amps... there was a problem with the third amp so i removed it... this cause problems as when i tried to re wire the speakers without the third amp there was no sound... there is four crossovers in the speaker system... Anyway i am convinced i have this all wired correctly... When i cam to test the speakers i discovered there was No power goin to my head unit or dvd plater... Whoever wired the system in the first place wasnt the best electrician... I have tidied up and re wired some of it but still no power.

Does anyone have any ideas or even better a full wiring diagram for this system as i am totally stumped... I dont really want to put it into a specialist as i have all the resources to do the job myself but just dont have the diagrams etc...

if anyone has any ideas feel free to email me on [email protected]

Any help is much appreciated

thanks

Re: BMW Alpine CVA 1000r

Have you tried contacting Alpine to see if they have diagrams for their units? And have you checked that the end to supply power is plugged in? First step of troubleshooting...is it plugged in.

Re: BMW Alpine CVA 1000r

I have now got power to the head unit and dvd player after re wiring everythin... but i think my amplifiers are now on the blink cause there is no sound at all... i thnk i will just replace the subs and amplifiers and get some new speakers... didnt really want to bother as the car is to be sold by the end of the year as i get bored.
